Dan Petroski, Massican Winery
http://massican.com
Massican was founded in 2009 by Dan Petroski. It is named after the coastal mountain range on the Southern Italian peninsula in Campania, but the inspiration for these wines comes from northeast of Italy in Friuli. Just like Squire Wine Co, Massican is what Dan does when he isn’t making the wine for Larkmead Winery in Calistoga, California. His passion for wine started in Italy and he hopes that wine will lead him back there. Dan’s wines are intellectual, focused, accessible, and finely etched. They are made in a transparent style like venica & venica, borgo del tiglio, schioppetto, and many others who eschewed oak when it became popular or chose to only use it as a dash to season the wine as oppose to define the wine.

Hardy Wallace, Dirty and Rowdy Winery

https://dirtyandrowdy.com

Dirty and Rowdy is the story of two couples Dirty (Hardy and Kate) and Rowdy (Matt and Amy) who wanted to make wines ‘with knees, elbows and open hearts.’ Dirt and soul guide their wines as they work with small lots throughout Napa, Sonoma, Santa Cruz and Amador Counties. These are wines of energy and texture. Joyous wines made by people bubbling over with joy in what they do. They are not made by recipe or by numbers but using consciously farmed and unique vineyards.

John Raytek and Phoebe Bass, Ceritas Wines
Ceritas led by the husband and wife duo of John Raytek and Phoebe Bass seek to acheive simplicity in their wines. For them simplicity means allowing their vineyards to be the teachers, so they can be the students. It means the ongoing process of listening to and learning from each site, every vintage, to discover and share what that site is capable of expressing.
John is the winemaker and Pheobe the farmer.  Their focus on details in every part of the winemaking process is what makes these wines so pure and special.  These wines separate themselves from the pack and after only a few vintages have achieved rockstar status among their peers.
