Steve Morgan

Steve Morgan graduated with honors from Wesleyan University with a passion for storytelling.  He began his career in Chicago
restaurants as a member of the opening team for Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises (LEYE) Chicago restaurant Osteria Via Stato. It was here that he fell for wine, specifically Italian wine.  An opportunity to go to Italy led to a three month internship with Elisabetta Foradori at Foradori Winery in Trentino, Italy.  After returning to Chicago Steve became the manager of Enoteca Roma in Wicker Park.

In late 2008 Steve moved to New York, where he joined Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich's Del Posto as a sommelier working with their Wine Spectator Grand Award winning wine list.  The opportunity to be more involved in running service in the restaurant spurred his next move to Dressler Restaurant in Williamsburg, Brooklyn where became the Wine and Service Director.  Wanting to further his experience and understanding he signed on to open Michael White's Ai Fiori as a manager, which was an eye opening experience, but left him knowing that wine was really where his passion was.  He spent his last two years in New York as the lead sommelier at Tribeca Grill, overseeing the Grand Award winning wine list with wine director David Gordon. During his time at Tribeca Grill he was able to work the 2012 harvest at Larkmead Winery in Calistoga, California.

Steve moved back to Chicago in February of 2013 and is currently a sommelier at the three Michelin starred Alinea restaurant where he works with a team of sommeliers to craft exciting pairings to match the kitchen's innovative cuisine.

Ryan Arnold

A graduate of the University of Montana, sommelier Ryan Arnold had the unique opportunity to study in both Torino and Rome during his college years. It was there that he first fell in love with two of life’s greatest pleasures – food and wine.

In 2004, he began his career as a member of the opening team for Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises (LEYE) Chicago restaurant Osteria Via Stato, and was reintroduced to Italian wine in the States, further sparking his passion and inspiration to pursue a career in the wine business. Arnold followed his vision, and in 2006, he accepted a position with local Italian wine importer Vin Divino. He quickly moved up the ranks and was promoted to regional manager shortly thereafter.

In 2010, Arnold joined Winebow, a large New York-based import company, and opened their Chicago branch. Two years later, Arnold rejoined the LEYE team as Divisional Wine Director where he develops various wine programs at restaurants including RPM Italian, Paris Club and HUB 51, and educates guests with his expansive knowledge.

Outside of the world of wine, Arnold’s passion is traveling and experiencing new cultures. A member of the NBC Olympic hospitality team, Arnold continues his worldly exploration, and has participated in the implementation and logistics of NBC’s Client program for the Athens, Torino, Beijing, Vancouver and London games.  In his spare time, he can be found running marathons, rock climbing, traveling, or cooking. Arnold resides in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago.
